KMHIS provides Service Desk outside Kent

Service Desk at Staff Awards Ceremony

July 2012 – KMHIS’s first Service Desk for a trust outside Kent went live on 2 July.


KMHIS won the tender in March to provide Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust with an IT Service Desk and Portal.


KMHIS Head of Service Management, Vince Watkins, said, “The go live went exceptionally well.  We received 148 calls with no major issues  and  Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust was very pleased.  It was a great achievement!” 


It is initially a 12 month contract to provide service desk support to 72 sites and 2,200 users. Dedicated members of staff located within the KMHIS Service Desk at Folkestone take calls from the trust. Users can log requests online via the Service Portal. 


The trust provides specialist mental health, learning disability and drug and alcohol services for people of all ages in Surrey and North East Hampshire. 


“This is our first customer outside Kent and Medway,” Vince explained. “We hope to build on this success and continue to extend our services outside the county in future.”
