Our systems

Whether it’s a cheap and easy to use text messaging service for your workforce or a tool to help you predict costs of supplies, our systems development team can help. Some of the systems we have developed to date (and which can be further developed to meet your own specific needs) include:

  • PReCIS (Patient Recording and Check-in System) - Patients use a simple touch screen interface to check in for their appointment. This enables the patient to verify their arrival in the reception area without the need for queuing to see a receptionist. When the patient has checked in, the system can also direct them to the appropriate waiting area.

This allows receptionists to perform other duties, even when the clinic is at its busiest. All the information is displayed in real time to anyone involved, including those that provide the treatment and their management. In addition, all activities are recorded in an audit trail and can be downloaded directly into Excel for subsequent analysis

The touch screen can also be used to display messages/images to promote other trust services, or even sponsorship, when it is not in use.

  • Access database conversion – We can convert Access databases into modern, secure and fully supported web-based applications which are safe and cost-effective.

  • HIStxt – this text messaging service draws up the data you supply to provide information, appointments or cancellations. This can be extended to other areas, such as internal staff communications. View HIStext case study (PDF download).

  • NIHSS Stroke System - providing consultants with a system that calculates the severity of a stroke and the viability of thrombolysis for the patient. It enables the tracking of progress over time to enable clinical effectiveness studies to take place. It is integrated to the PAS system to prevent information duplication and to guarantee data migration into any future system. View stroke system case study (PDF download).

  • Predictive, recording and monitoring tools (High Cost Drugs system) – this assists in recording the use of high cost drugs. It provides information to predict costs and highlight potential risks. It will also act as an audit tool and is used for monitoring/validation of the related financial activity and processes.

  • Maternity Leave System - enables managers to initiate the application for maternity leave. The system establishes the eligibility of the applicant based on a complex set of calculations. A full audit trail of the application process is also retained. Authorised users can amend or append to pre-defined letter templates. The system stores a copy of all letters produced for future reference.

  • Patient Online Data System (PODS) - combines three applications, but presents this as a single patient-centric view to the user. These comprise: Lookups - a read only view on a number of legacy information systems including legacy A&E system, GP lookups and MRSA status; Cataracts - used by the head and neck department to record details of cataract consultations, surgeries and follow-ups; Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic.

  • Health Records Solicitor Requests - enables the users in health records departments to systematically manage all their solicitor requests and to track the status of any request at any point of time. It also automatically calculates the right amount to be charged for each request and produces appropriate letters for sending.

  • WebCPA Data Export - enables the migration of information from a legacy system to an archive. A console application was developed to export all legacy records into the prescribed format using an agreed rule base. The system recorded a full audit trail of the exporting process to support data quality and other assurance processes.
