HISbi is a sophisticated business intelligence system. The data processing and updating of reports is a fully automated process saving time and providing reliability and consistency. Using data stored on the KMHIS data warehouse, our team can build reports and dashboards for almost any purpose. We work with you to design the reporting required.
-
Creates efficiencies across the board - Analysts spend more time analysing rather than data processing. Dynamic reporting means less pressure on information teams. As data can be fully integrated so cross sector, cross border analysis can be done.
-
Data can be analysed quickly, efficiently and accurately – no matter how complex, the data can be analysed quickly. The data processing and updating of reports is a fully automated process saving time and providing reliability and consistency.
-
Fewer disputes – because all the data is stored in one place and used by everyone there will be fewer disputes.
-
Meeting your exact needs – reporting can be tailored to meet your exact requirements. We work with you to understand your needs so that reporting can be tailored especially for you.

What is HISbi?
HISbi comprises two parts: a data warehouse and a reporting system.
-
Data warehouse - extracts data from across Kent and Medway regularly through automated processes. Data is consistent and reliable and is processed to include value added data.
-
Reporting system - based on IBM Cognos, an acknowledged market leader in BI software. Cognos provides intelligence from the data on the warehouse in the form of dashboards, dynamic reports, metrics and OLAP cubes.
HISbi has been operational for a number of years and some key users of the system are:
-
All GP practices in NHS West Kent and NHS Medway are able to access HISbi to get Practice Based Commissioning financial and activity information
-
The Acute Contracting Team are using HISbi to monitor the Kent and Medway commissioning budget.
-
Medway Community Services are using HISbi to analyse the provider data that is warehoused from ePEX.
-
NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent are using HISbi to analyse their activity data using the cube function.
